question: ok, we think marketing it's great, we have a lot of know-how, but exactly what we should sell?
answer: there is not just one answer because what should be sold is directly coming out from your customer needs
question: if you were my customers what would you like to be sold? and how much you will like to pay for (if money is a matter)? anything else?

when reading about classes in PHP5
“Paamayim Nekudotayim would, at first, seem like a strange choice for naming a double-colon. However, while writing the Zend Engine 0.5 (which powers PHP 3), that’s what the Zend team decided to call it. It actually does mean double-colon - in Hebrew!”
it recalls a memory of mine, some year ago in Usa
college: “how do you italians call ‘italian restaurants’”
I: “restaurants”
ps don’t take me wrong: I just love http://www.php.net, sometimes what you can read is funny (to me at least)
Old economy fog is clearing: no longer can incompetence, below-par performance, ignored global standards, anti-social & anti-eco behavior, or opaque pricing be obscured. In its place has come a transparent, fully informed marketplace, where producers have no excuse left to underperform. TRANSPARENCY TYRANNY for some, TRANSPARENCY TRIUMPH for others.”
I’ve just resumed an old scratchbook of mine and produced lot of ideas, what I need is checking for competitors
web2.0 is growing fast and beauty, you can surf from blog to blog and having a lot of info. no web1.0 site can give you more passion and trust
text search it’s sometimes so boring that image searching may drive you (randomly) to very good blogs. from there you can jump to company sites
interesting things
should be more, I’ve started the list thinking to find an enormous amount of interesting application and cool stuff but actually within evening surfing you can be happy if you have found one really interesting site
now I shut down, I’ve downloaded ubuntu live disk: I hope it could speed up the new laptop of my girlfriend (running vista…no comment) I wish the laptop could be a butterfly, it would move faster ;-)

while bed is getting closer to me, I find myself thinking about goods to be produced
I work already for manifacturing and I know how difficult it is: sometimes I really wonder how we are still on the market!
it would be much much better to create a full custom service rather than to set up a massive production for commodities
from top to bottom (of success) I would recommend to myself (if I was me):
- full custom service for a small set of customers in a very tight intimacy (solutions to customer needs)
- standard services for a wide set of customers (service, wide target, no customer intimacy)
- reselling (the shop)
- producing goods (product)
while the heart goes for goods to be produced and sold, common sense drive us to services, something in-material low-start-up-cost
sometimes browsing the internet is a way to remember long time ago lost ideas
the following was the subject which helped a friend of mine and I to survive to a very boring Sunday without girls

drawers has always been a problem to me
since I live on my own, I have very few drawers (the early version of my house had no drawers at all for some years)
and the subject is getting even worst when talking about dreams closed in the drawer: no drawers, no dreams
no dreams, no target
no target means first of all looking around for any target available and then fighting desperately for the target
ideas: yes, a lot of ideas, like anybody else I think
my opinion is anyhow that ideas are somewhat different from targets, basically an idea could be a way to achieve the target
but now, since I’m making up my mind about becoming an entrepreneur, let’s assume starting up a new company and making a living out of it to be my current target
so I have to find an idea for a product or a service to sell
I could say that 70% of my ideas have simply disappeared from my memory before I could take any note. Most part of what survived from automatic purging is giving life to my current job. A very small percentage looks like what I need to set up a company. Following some ideas I had and I’ve recently found on the internet (rude competitor analisys):

reading about web2.0 what I love most is simplicity
that attribute is really deep in my dna and I always try to keep up the good job
I work for a big multinational company as software programmer and system administrator and I feel quite lucky since I work on a system that I’ve created by myself during last five years and it’s used by somebody: the system is growing each day (I could steel again one concept from the picture above: a perpetual beta) and its develop it’s driven from bottom rather than from top
I guess to know what my users want
I think my users are to me “internal customers”, really good people asking for really usefull things for their day-to-day job. Money is not a problem for them since internal suppliers receive no purchase orders or money for any service
I guess I would like new customers, external ones, somebody with a budget for their needs
I guess I need to change my status, to become entrepreneur
